The Mess Hall adds a boost to Officer stats as well as component tritanium efficiency, but the building is not locked to the Operations Level. Instead, it is linked to the sun of the officer level. The more officers you have promoted, the higher this building can be leveled up.
Borg Solo Armadas are now a new mechanic within STFC, in combination with the Command Center. These work similar to the Dominion Solo Armadas (Jem'Hadar Flagship).
Successful takeovers require coordination with alliance members, and sometimes help from other alliances as well. This is a breakdown strategy of how to run takeovers and the jobs of each player either in the alliance, or helping another alliance.
Players will need to be in an alliance that is willing to share with lower level players in order for them to get material to build/upgrade their Armada Control Center (ACC). Typically, the lower level player will bring their biggest ship they have to participate. They don't have to survive the fight, but as long as another member does, loot will be awarded to all participants.
Now that we are collecting materials from the Cardasian Armadas, the alliance can build its own Starbase. This unlocks research for alliance members, based on the level of components of the Starbase.
To upgrade the Starbase, it will need to be located to a Plasma cloud so it can gather and process it into material. There are two types of material, Collisional Plasma (Red) and Magnetic Plasma (Green). Here are the locations of where to locate the Starbase for mining:
The name of the game with hitting bigger (Uncommon) Cardasian Armada Targets is to reduce the Critical Damage as much as possible. It is said by many content creators that "Crew Matters", and it is especially important here.
The chart below shows how best to plan within an alliance to hit the targets to reduce the Critical Damage.
The new Cardasian armada targets yields materials that is redeemable in the Alliance Store, which leaders can use to build a station for the alliance. Eventually that will benefit the alliance.
With any new arc, there is new materials and how to use them. This chart is to show how everything is used with the Mantis.
The Mantis is a neat ship that can de-buff other players, which can some in handy during a takeover or base defense. Once the ship is built, there is a special order to get the most resources from hostiles.
The Amalgam is a perfect base raiding ship for bases with a lot of loot.
Many ships for a really good takeover can be a real pain, but if players can maintain a node, using Vemet on a ship like a Jelly can be effective to keep getting points as long as possible. Usually Vemet will resurrect the ship after the first hit, and the ship that hit you will be too busy going after another target to notice, or it will foul them up longer during the lag, while you are still gaining points for the takeover with a ship in the system.
For alliances that are defending a space, they still have the ability to mine during a takeover. This gives a defensive advantage that players need to know about.
Cloaking devices being added to ships are a game changer for Territory Captures if used properly.
Officers can now be rapidly swapped using presets. This only works for the bridge crews, and if the officers are in use elsewhere, the option to speed up a ship repair or away team mission will pop up. If the officers are still not available for other reasons (deployed or no speedups available), a partial preset will be set.
A new faction has become available, but not in the normal way. Gain Syndicate XP to level up the Syndicate Faction from various sources.
Syndicate XP is earned which causes player buffs and daily improvements when the next tier is reached. Here is a chart of the buffs by tier:
| Tier | Multiplier Benefit |
| 5 | 1.5x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium |
| 8 | 2x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium |
| 10 | 1.5x Frequency Modulator Mk. II |
| 13 | 3x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium |
| 15 | 1.25x Faction token and reputation (+/-) |
| 18 | 4x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium |
| 20 | 1.5x Faction token and reputation (+/-) |
| 25 | 1.75x Faction token and reputation (+/-) |
Locating armadas that are appropriately sized can be difficult during an armada hunt event. Here is a chart showing where to find all of the armada targets and approximate rewards. These span Neutral, Faction and Deep Space.
This is an interesting event where alliances are supposed to fight each other to gain more points over the course of a week in Territory Space.
Here is a tip if an alliance doesn't want to move, drop a zone before the takeover starts and when they take it back it counts as an Offensive instead of a Defensive score. It costs materials this way, but an alliance collects a lot more points for the event.
The North Star is a rather effective ship that is a specialty mining ship that improves as it is leveled up, but it has a really good hull. It is also available at OPS18, and can be used to hit hostile ships up to 9 levels above the OPS of the player, and it doesn't really get replaced until OPS26 with upgrades or OPS28.
Once a player reaches OPS20, they unlock the Refinery LVL20, allows a player to refine 3* materials. The chances of Uncommon is low and batches are small, but when Bonus Refineries show up, the yield is still good.
Some issues with leveling and tiering the North Star at these lower levels can include:
1. Long tier up times (lower level players do not have a surplus of speedups)
2. Mining ship parts need Latinum (Participate in events and Away Team Missions)
3. Dilithium cost (Low level players cant get Dilithium tokens, Events are best bet)
4. Base Raids (Don't forget to shield your base or you may loose your saved materials)
5. High ship XP demand (Use auto level technique at night)
Getting the North Star blue prints (BPs) can be a challenge though, as there is not enough missions to get the ship for free.
There are Event Stores every few months that the BPs can be purchased for free, based on participation in events. The pack for a full unlock is only $20 in the store and shows up quite often.
Ships can be leveled up automatically by sending a ship to hostile space. This can be a little challenging for regular faction spaces for predicting the type of hostiles that will be generated. This is really easy though when properly crewed and ship sent to the right place, especially before going to bed as it is easier than to manually grid hostiles.
One thing that is consistent is Augment space, which is always an Explorer coming after when entering space. There are no locations to park a base, but it is easy to put ships on the edges of the systems and let the Bounty Hunters start hitting your ship. When using the edge of the system, its harder for other players to hit your "chaser" ship, and to keep it going for as long as possible.
