Armadas

Picard #1 - Mess Hall

The Mess Hall adds a boost to Officer stats as well as component tritanium efficiency, but the building is not locked to the Operations Level. Instead, it is linked to the sun of the officer level. The more officers you have promoted, the higher this building can be leveled up.

So, If your LVL35+, but your Officer Level is not 3000+, consider grinding on your officers and leveling them up.

Also, Hunting hostiles in Ty'Gokor (39) is one of the best places to gather Officer XP from PVE chests.

Borg #13 - Borg Solo Armadas

Borg Solo Armadas are now a new mechanic within STFC, in combination with the Command Center. These work similar to the Dominion Solo Armadas (Jem'Hadar Flagship).

Be sure to start the Borg research first in the Combat Research Tree. This research turns faction ships into ViDars against the Spheres. Don't bother with ViDars on these targets, as they are not strong enough.

The Borg Spheres have a massive amount of Mitigation, so the best way to fight them is a lot of Mitigation on our own ships, as well as critical hits. This way the ships last long enough to finish the fight and get the loot.

Territories #7 - Takeover Strategy

Successful takeovers require coordination with alliance members, and sometimes help from other alliances as well. This is a breakdown strategy of how to run takeovers and the jobs of each player either in the alliance, or helping another alliance.

Armada #6 - Getting Started with Armadas

Players will need to be in an alliance that is willing to share with lower level players in order for them to get material to build/upgrade their Armada Control Center (ACC). Typically, the lower level player will bring their biggest ship they have to participate. They don't have to survive the fight, but as long as another member does, loot will be awarded to all participants.

Loot from the Armada is distributed by ship strength, which is why it is important to bring the correct ship to the targets (See Armada #3), to try to evenly distribute the loot. This rule has to be bent to help lower level players sometimes, but higher level players might be tempted to bring their biggest ship to a target they can take out by themselves. This creates an imbalance of loot, and a lot of animosity between players when this occurs. Higher level players should either not participate in smaller Armadas, or bring smaller ships to play.

DS9 #3 - Armada Starbase

Now that we are collecting materials from the Cardasian Armadas, the alliance can build its own Starbase. This unlocks research for alliance members, based on the level of components of the Starbase.

To upgrade the Starbase, it will need to be located to a Plasma cloud so it can gather and process it into material. There are two types of material, Collisional Plasma (Red) and Magnetic Plasma (Green). Here are the locations of where to locate the Starbase for mining:

DS9 #2 - Cardasian Armada Crews

Per Scopely:
-Gaila was rescued from jail and the changes that were made to her from yesterday (9-7-2022) have been reversed. We appreciate the overwhelming feedback we received from the community on this.
-Rare and Epic Cardassian armadas have had their hostile ability/buff removed
-A full unlock of Major Kira Nerys has been added to the Elite BP!
-All shards were added to Milestone 20 across the Free and Elite tracks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This means the Uncommon Armadas still have the Khan Ability which Gaila reduces the damage from, while the Rare/Epic fight more like regular armada targets.  Kira should also be available for free to assist over the course of the Deep Space Nine Arc to pair with O'Brian to hit the Cardasians as well.

The name of the game with hitting bigger (Uncommon) Cardasian Armada Targets is to reduce the Critical Damage as much as possible. It is said by many content creators that "Crew Matters", and it is especially important here.

The chart below shows how best to plan within an alliance to hit the targets to reduce the Critical Damage.

Scopely did adjust the Critical Chance Cap on these Armadas, so this setup will not produce a 0 Damage scenario, but this will still allow for bigger Uncommon targets to be taken down for more loot.

DS9 #1 - Cardasian Armadas

The new Cardasian armada targets yields materials that is redeemable in the Alliance Store, which leaders can use to build a station for the alliance. Eventually that will benefit the alliance.

These Armada targets are different, in that gain critical chances per round. By round 6, nearly all hits are critical against the alliance ships (see chart below). This makes them comparable to a regular Armada that is about 3-5 levels higher than what is showing on the Cardasian targets.

The way to get past these new targets is to reduce the Critical %, which there is no old crew that can do that. The new DS9 crew however is perfectly suited for this, with Kira as Captain. See DS9 #2 - Cardasian Crew

This chart shows how fast the Cardasian targets can get to every shot as a critical, due to a ship/station ability.

Eventually, research will require a high enough alliance reputation to start.

SNW #2 - Mantis RSS Path

With any new arc, there is new materials and how to use them. This chart is to show how everything is used with the Mantis.

SNW #1 - Mantis Hostiles/Usage

The Mantis is a neat ship that can de-buff other players, which can some in handy during a takeover or base defense. Once the ship is built, there is a special order to get the most resources from hostiles.

Duality #7 - Amalgam

The Amalgam is a perfect base raiding ship for bases with a lot of loot.

The Amalgam uses specialized parts that requires a special refinery to acquire. Visit the special systems and hit the trade ships found there, as they carry "Plundered Cargo". Once the Amalgam is built, the Amalgam Refinary shows up, and the first batch of Cargo can be redeemed for Plundered Cargo Exocomp. This boosts the cargo loot significantly for the Amalgam.

If you have the Combat Exocomp unlocked, consider activating the Warp Speed Exocomp as well, or use Discovery Summoning to make the most of the limited time of the Plundered Cargo Exocomp.

Use the Amalgam to chase down the trade ships for plunder. Use another ship on the other ships in the system to get the trade ships to spawn if needed.

Once enough plunder is gathered, it can be redeemed at the refinery for Amalgam Parts and Refinery Tokens which yields more Exocomps, Refit Chard Trackers, and Honorguard Worf shards.

The Amalgam can get a cloak, which may be useful to sneak in and take a load of loot and warp out from frenzies going on.

As the Amalgam is upgraded, it can take more loot from bases. The key is the bigger the loot, the more over it will grab. Warp out or guard once loot cargo is acquired.

Territories #13 - Use Lag to Advantage

Many ships for a really good takeover can be a real pain, but if players can maintain a node, using Vemet on a ship like a Jelly can be effective to keep getting points as long as possible. Usually Vemet will resurrect the ship after the first hit, and the ship that hit you will be too busy going after another target to notice, or it will foul them up longer during the lag, while you are still gaining points for the takeover with a ship in the system.

Again, this trick works really well when the space is flooded and ships can't move around due to lag.

Territory #12 - Defensive Mining

For alliances that are defending a space, they still have the ability to mine during a takeover. This gives a defensive advantage that players need to know about.

By parking a Sarcophagus on a mining node during a defensive takeover, the ship ability is still activated. The above graphics are showing 3 Enterprises that were taken out by a Sarco while on a mining node instead of a capture node.

This doesn't give more points the way a capture node does, but it still activates the Sarco weapons, which is what we want.

Territory #11 - Cloaking for Capture

Cloaking devices being added to ships are a game changer for Territory Captures if used properly.

A cloaked ship allows players to see inside enemy space without the enemies knowledge. This is perfect for scouting targets for a Sarcophagus to hit.

Of course, getting the cloak for the Sarcophagus is optimal, because it also boosts weapons even more when cloaked, especially the criticals. The above graphic shows that a LVL25 (OPS35) Sarco was able to take out a LVL25 (OPS45) Valdore that was parked on a node, but it took ~4 hits.
So it is possible to clear the big ships from nodes.

Attacking while cloaked has an affect on the weapons damage depending on the research completed, but it is apparent. This same tactic can be used on the Sarco for PvP to get even more damage.

By using Yuki/Harrison, with Honorguard Worf, the shields get striped away from other ships fast, and Worf boosts the Critical Hit Chances for the first 8 rounds. With a Sarco, we don't expect the fight to last longer than 8 rounds anyways, and combine this with the cloak for more boost after maxing the cloak research, produces devastating results.

Duality #6 - Officer Presets

Officers can now be rapidly swapped using presets. This only works for the bridge crews, and if the officers are in use elsewhere, the option to speed up a ship repair or away team mission will pop up. If the officers are still not available for other reasons (deployed or no speedups available), a partial preset will be set.

This is a graphic showing how the Officer Presets work in STFC and the error that will show up if the officer is not available.

Duality #5 - Syndicate

Level up your standing to unlock special benefits, officer presets, and a unique officer

A new faction has become available, but not in the normal way. Gain Syndicate XP to level up the Syndicate Faction from various sources.

This shows how to acquire Syndicate XP in the game to level up the Syndicate Faction and improve the benefits. This is done thru the battle pass, events, daily chests (22h cooldown), and occasional missions.
***The Daily collection for the Syndicate is done on the Syndicate page, not from the regular reward chests. (Tap the icon next to the latinum) ***

Syndicate XP is earned which causes player buffs and daily improvements when the next tier is reached. Here is a chart of the buffs by tier:

This chart shows all of the benefits the syndicate gives players at the associated faction level, and where the free officer presets are given. This also shows where the Ghrush shards are given so he can be maxed out. Some buffs are linked to the player Ops level, so as the player levels up, the benefit will also improve.

Specific amounts of boost varies based on player Ops Level.

The buffs with variable levels are shown in this chart

Once a player reaches a high enough level with the Syndicate, the rewards will start to influence the daily goal outputs.

The added buffs can multiply the daily goal rewards and those are shown on this screenshot.

Here are the Daily Goal boost breakdowns by Syndicate Tier
TierMultiplier Benefit
51.5x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium
82x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium
101.5x Frequency Modulator Mk. II
13 3x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium

18 4x Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium
20 1.5x Faction token and reputation (+/-)
25 1.75x Faction token and reputation (+/-)

Armada #5 - Target Locations/Maps

Locating armadas that are appropriately sized can be difficult during an armada hunt event. Here is a chart showing where to find all of the armada targets and approximate rewards. These span Neutral, Faction and Deep Space.

Event #16 - TC Takeover

This is an interesting event where alliances are supposed to fight each other to gain more points over the course of a week in Territory Space.

Here is a tip if an alliance doesn't want to move, drop a zone before the takeover starts and when they take it back it counts as an Offensive instead of a Defensive score. It costs materials this way, but an alliance collects a lot more points for the event.

Gameplay-Strategy #16: North Star as a Hammer

The North Star is a rather effective ship that is a specialty mining ship that improves as it is leveled up, but it has a really good hull. It is also available at OPS18, and can be used to hit hostile ships up to 9 levels above the OPS of the player, and it doesn't really get replaced until OPS26 with upgrades or OPS28.

Once a player reaches OPS20, they unlock the Refinery LVL20, allows a player to refine 3* materials. The chances of Uncommon is low and batches are small, but when Bonus Refineries show up, the yield is still good.

Some issues with leveling and tiering the North Star at these lower levels can include:
    1. Long tier up times (lower level players do not have a surplus of speedups)
    2. Mining ship parts need Latinum (Participate in events and Away Team Missions)
    3. Dilithium cost (Low level players cant get Dilithium tokens, Events are best bet)
    4. Base Raids (Don't forget to shield your base or you may loose your saved materials)
    5. High ship XP demand (Use auto level technique at night)

Getting the North Star blue prints (BPs) can be a challenge though, as there is not enough missions to get the ship for free.

There are Event Stores every few months that the BPs can be purchased for free, based on participation in events. The pack for a full unlock is only $20 in the store and shows up quite often.

Gameplay-Strategy #15: Auto Level Ships

Ships can be leveled up automatically by sending a ship to hostile space. This can be a little challenging for regular faction spaces for predicting the type of hostiles that will be generated. This is really easy though when properly crewed and ship sent to the right place, especially before going to bed as it is easier than to manually grid hostiles.

Park a ship that needs XP points in hostile space, and let the server send battleships after you to gain XP points. A “Trained” hostile of the same level will be stronger than the other ships in the system but give more XP, so pick your system carefully. Server will launch attacks about once a minute. You will also gain points towards your other factions while doing this, just as you would hunting normally. You can also move bases into hostile space. This works great while shielded for a long period of time

One thing that is consistent is Augment space, which is always an Explorer coming after when entering space. There are no locations to park a base, but it is easy to put ships on the edges of the systems and let the Bounty Hunters start hitting your ship. When using the edge of the system, its harder for other players to hit your "chaser" ship, and to keep it going for as long as possible.

If Augment reputation is high enough, Bounty Hunters will attack when entering Augment Space.
