Borg #13 - Borg Solo Armadas

Borg Solo Armadas are now a new mechanic within STFC, in combination with the Command Center. These work similar to the Dominion Solo Armadas (Jem'Hadar Flagship).

Be sure to start the Borg research first in the Combat Research Tree. This research turns faction ships into ViDars against the Spheres. Don't bother with ViDars on these targets, as they are not strong enough.

The Borg Spheres have a massive amount of Mitigation, so the best way to fight them is a lot of Mitigation on our own ships, as well as critical hits. This way the ships last long enough to finish the fight and get the loot.

Borg #12 - Lucrative 3* Transwarp Systems

Finding an Assimilated Ferengi Trade ship in Borg space will yield Latinum Antiques that are refined to Tokens:
Ship XP (*Prime Borg Rewards Only)
Transwarp Cell
Latinum Cell
Lucrative 3* Transwarp Cell

If your lucky to get the Lucrative 3* Transwarp Cell, be sure to crew your best mining ship correctly for max cargo. The base mining rate in these special systems are insanely higher than other locations:

System Type Base Mining Rate Equivalent
Standard 300 1x
Rogue 3* 450 1.5x
Origin T3 3* 600 2x
Lucrative System 1500 5x

If you park your ship overnight, you should hit cargo capacity which is really nice for building reserves.

Borg #11 - Assimilated Trade Ship Hunt

This is specific to a L29 Borg probe system, but illustrates how Hostile Spawn Points work, which other systems have different configurations, but same logic.

Hunting the trade ship can a a lot of luck, or you can make your own luck. Stay near the spawn points to reduce the time it will be in space for others to get when it does show up. Pick a spot between 2 spawn points, and don't wander too far. Nothing sucks more than seeing someone else get the trade ship before you. Our screens will only show us so much of the system, but understanding this can become the advantage. A landscape rectangle is the app view, making the Top Right and Bottom Right of Roda Gamma the best place to hunt for trade ships.

The chart below shows the stats of the Ferengi trade ships. Be sure you are strong enough to hunt them, or you will be wasting tokens

Borg #10 - Borg Armada Targets

Warning: Timers are 5 minutes, so ships must already be in area to participate.

Only use a ViDar with:
1. Nine of Ten as captain then two other Borg Officers - this will eliminate the Borg Cube critical bonus
2. Eight of Ten as captain / Nine of Ten and Gorkon - this will likely bring Hull Breach increasing all critical damage for the whole armada
3. Eight of Ten as captain then Nine of Ten and Seven of Ten or two Borg officers to increase the chances of critical hits

If you don't have Borg officers, use Kirk/Spock and Carol Marcus or Kahn or best officer.

Collect and redeem Borg Tech Salvage parts to get Armada Directives or TransWarp Cells (different from the Probe Space areas).

Alliance redemption of TransWarp Cells cost a bit more, but give cells to the rest of the alliance as well.

Borg #9 - Rare Borg Trade Ships

Watch for these ships while hunting regular Borg Probes, it could get you access to the secret latinum systems. These ships travel at about the same speed as probes, but have the mining symbol instead of the interceptor symbol. So watch for them.

Many alliances consider Borg Latinum systems sacred due to how difficult it is to get there, so leave other ships alone when there.

Borg #8 - Effective Probe Hunt Testing

Your results will vary based on the Tier/Level/Components of your Vi'Dar. These tests were done with the same components at LVL20, with the same crews, varying Chen/T'Laan as 2nd officer.

It seems the big differences are at LVL25, and LVL29 Probes in favor of T'Laan, otherwise use Chen.

If you have 7/8/9 borg officers, and your ViDar at least to tier 4, they may be more effective against L29 than a Pike/Moreau/T’Laan due to the probe firing pattern.

Borg #7 - Vi'Dar

Check your battle logs when fighting probes, and make sure your Vi'Dar is leveled up on Ship XP as that affects the firepower against probes. Battles should not go beyond round 3 whenever possible to be most effective.

Borg #6 - Probe Stats

Hopefully its not a bug that will be fixed later, but the firing pattern is different on L29 Borg Probes, which makes T'Laan most effective as 2nd officer against L29 probes. Multiple tests yield more nanoprobes with T'Laan against L29 as well, otherwise use Chen as the firing pattern favors her in all other Borg systems.

*Using Borg Crew (7 as caption with 8 and 9) is also very effective against L29 probes when they get promoted enough.

Borg #5 - Mission Chains

The missions will have you go to multiple borg systems as part of the chains, and hit a mission target. Don't waste the Transwarp Cell you have to consume to get there, go after the probes in that system.

Once of the missions will give you a choice for going to an Inhabited system or an Uninhabited system. The destinations have different Warp requirements, so make sure you are capable of the warp needed.
Uninhabited = Warp 45
Inhabited = Warp 26

Borg #4: Accessing Borg Space

Its important to be able to see into systems in case there are battles or problems with other players that the alliance needs to respond/defend against.

Borg #3: Nanoprobes

Nanoprobes gathered from Borg ships are going to be the mechanism to upgrading/promoting/competing. The refinery will have a tiered yield, similar to how Latinum is done.

Borg #2: Crews

Crewing your Vi'Dar can be a little tricky, as players have noticed that L29 can be a little different compared to other hostiles.

Borg #1: Basic info

A new ship is available to players after going thru missions or getting the Blue Prints from an Event Store. This is a specialized ship for hitting Borg probes in certain systems full of Borg ships.
